Medical Assistant

Pay: $16 – $19 an hour

Job Description
Diabetes & Metabolic Wellness Center is looking for friendly and reliable Medical Assistants to join our team. Applicants must be passionate about our patients’ care and the community we proudly serve. Compassion for others and excellent customer service skills are an absolute must. As part of Diabetes & Metabolic Wellness Center’s Intimate Care Model, our MAs are deeply involved in our patients’ experience and all applicants must be advocates for their patients’ well-being above all else.
  • – Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • – Medical Assistant certification from an accredited school of Medical Assistants
  • – EMR experience required
  • – Bilingual preferred

Responsibilities and Duties
  • – Take patients back to exam rooms
  • – Obtain patient vital signs, medical history, and prepare patient charts within EMR
  • – Retrieve medical records from hospitals and Specialist offices as necessary
  • – Schedule follow-up appointments for patient once visit is completed
  • – Call patients to inform about lab results and any other follow-up that may be required
  • – Contact specialist offices and other facilities as needed
  • – Contact vendors to order medical equipment
  • – Contact pharmacies to order and refill prescriptions
  • – Assist with answering the phone, scheduling patients, and other duties as needed
  • – Work referrals, prior authorizations, and orders as needed

Schedule
  • – 8 hour shift

Education
  • – High school or equivalent (Preferred)

License/Certification
  • – BLS Certification (Preferred)
  • – Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
